Hi! My name is Mike Conner
Mike Conner has been a Floridian since 1962, and has fished extensively in both salt and freshwater, trying everything from fly tackle to surf fishing tackle. He guided fly fishers and light-tackle anglers on the tidal flats of both Biscayne Bay, Florida Bay, and the Indian River Lagoon from 1987 until 1999 when he landed a managing editor position at Florida Sportsman. He was also editor of the Shallow Water Angler magazine during his tenure, and also co-hosted the publication’s TV shows – Florida Sportsman TV and Shallow Water Angler TV – which visited every coastal state from Maine to Texas.
After moving on from his editorial role in 2007, Mike has freelanced for Florida Sportsman, along with six other fishing magazines, and still does features and columns today, mainly on fly tying, fly fishing, and marine conservation topics.
