How you can win the Angler’s Choice Award

The Angler’s Choice Award is FishingBooker’s way of bringing attention to outstanding captains and charter operators. Highlighting excellent customer service and reliability, it shows prospective customers that you’ve gone the extra mile for your guests.

Whether you just missed out on getting the most recent Angler’s Choice Award, or want to make sure you continue your winning streak next quarter, we’ve covered everything you need to know below. From the requirements to what you can do to win, let’s dive in…

What are the requirements?

The award looks at your performance over a 12-month period, and can be won every three months. Not only does this give you more opportunities to win, but it also shows customers who is the best of the best right now. We award captains, not individual listings, so if you have more than one listing on FishingBooker, we’ll take them all into consideration. 

If these requirements change, don’t worry – we’ll let you know in plenty of time!

How can I win?

The Angler’s Choice Award is all about reliability, customer service, and quality trips. You can check out your Angler’s Choice dashboard and use the progress tracker to see how close you are to winning. Then, use these tips to give you an extra boost:

  • Get 10 verified reviews and increase your review score. Follow the advice of captains who get the most reviews and customers will be more likely to leave you a review. You’ll need 10 reviews from FishingBooker guests in order to fulfill these requirements and win the Angler’s Choice Award. 
  • Keep your booking response rate at 98% or above by responding within 24 hours. Activating Instant Book automatically takes care of this, as your customers will be able to confirm their trip with you immediately. Already have Instant Book activated? Why not lower your notice period? We send the most bookings to captains with a notice period of 24 hours. 
  • Keep your reliability score at 98%. Updating your calendar as often as possible helps you avoid double bookings and having to cancel trips. If you use multiple calendars to track your bookings, add your FishingBooker trips to your Google calendar.
  • Let customers know that you’re a legitimate business. Only fully verified captains are eligible for the Angler’s Choice Award. You can manage all your documents easily on your Credentials Dashboard, and we’ll send you a notification whenever a document is about to expire. 

How can I show customers I’m a winner?

A big part of winning the Angler’s Choice Award is being able to show customers that you’ve gone above and beyond to provide an excellent service. So how can you let them know this? Well, each winner receives an orange badge on their listing, which makes it stand out from the crowd:

If you’re eligible, we’ll also reach out to local media and news outlets in your area, in order to spread the word and shine a light on your success.
