New at FishingBooker is our monthly run down of our latest updates, keeping you in the loop about any changes to our platform.

Recently, we’ve been working hard on improving our calendar. We just released a new feature that we hope will make it much easier to manage your time. We’ve also made some fixes that stop overlapping trips from being booked at once. Read on to find out more!

New Features

Take Control of Your Availability Settings

Our availability settings give you more control over how your calendar works. They let you automatically block off any dates that are too far in the future for you to be able to commit to, or are too short notice for you to be able to accept. Everyone’s different, so they’re completely customizable. Here’s how they work:

Quick guide to updating your availability:

  1. Click “Listings” in your dashboard;
  2. Click Calendar and More on the listing you want to edit;
  3. If you’re using a mobile, this will take you to your calendar. Click Back to listing, then click Availability.
  4. If you’re using a computer, you will see the Availability tab on the left of the screen.

Use the Booking Window to cap how far in the future customers can book you. You never know how much fuel will cost in a year. If you don’t want to commit to charging the same price for your trips in the upcoming year, choose how many months in advance your calendar will remain open for bookings.

The Booking Window also lets you block out all your upcoming dates in bulk, as well as allowing you to set annual seasonality if you only operate during certain months of the year.

Use the Advanced Notice settings to block any dates that are too soon for you to be able to accept. Depending on your business, this can be anything up to a week in advance. It works like this: if you set a day’s notice, the customer will see you as “unavailable” for the following day, even if you didn’t block that date on your calendar. It’s up to you how many days in advance you want your calendar to be blocked.

If you have Instant Book, you’re probably already familiar with advance notice. But while that has always stopped people from Instant Booking you at short notice, now you can stop them from even sending you a booking request at the last minute. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to unlock this feature or not.

Our engineers are working on a lot of things to do with how our calendar works – stay tuned for more updates in the next few months!

Navigate Easier on Desktop and Mobile

You’ve probably noticed how your personal and business settings are now grouped differently on your FishingBooker account. This makes it easier for you to find and update your booking, listing, and personal information.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s what this looks like on mobile:

And the desktop view has changed from this:

We hope this will make it easier for you to plan and organize your upcoming trips.

Major Fixes

Solved Problem with Double Bookings for Overlapping trips

Now, rather than just looking at when a trip starts, our system can take into account exactly how long a trip is. This is big news – you’ll no longer get a pm half day trip booked when you already have a 6 hour morning trip reserved!

Those are the main releases for this month. See you in September!
