This is Captain News where we give you all the latest tips on how to grow your online business! If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t like spending lots of time in front of the computer, we’ve got you covered!
This month, we created a quick, less-than five-minute guide on how to manage your bookings, especially if you’re not a computer person. Managing your bookings on FishingBooker doesn’t have to be frustrating.
We totally get that you don't have time to sit around doing emails all day, so, we want to make it easier for you to make your FishingBooker profile exactly the way you want. This way, you’ll be able to update what you need on your own and on your own time. Follow these simple tips on how to manage your bookings and you’ll find yourself spending less time on the computer and more time on the water!
If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend downloading the My Trips app.
This will make your life much easier, in terms of having instant access to your account and being able to manage it all in one place. You’ll also be able to make changes to your profile and calendar on the go, regardless of whether you’re on your boat or back on shore. Cat, from our Product Team, will fill you in on some insider tips and how to save time and get the most out of your My Trips app.
The most popular feature on the app is the calendar – keep it up to date, and you’ll have an immediate overview of your availability for all your listings, at a glance.
Your bookings show up here, along with your customers’ contact details.
Make sure you’re always using the most up-to-date version of the app. We often release new updates which could be anything from fixes to problems people have had in the past, to new features. So if you don’t have an up-to-date version, you won’t have the best experience.
Just go to your phone settings, click on your apps and turn on automatic updates for My Trips. You can easily share feedback or comments or submit any problems through the app directly. We check these messages every day and we’ll get back to you to help you solve your problem. There’s nothing worse than getting stuck out of your account just when you need to update something.
A common issue captains have is when they use an alternative email address to sign in and accidentally create a duplicate account. You can tell that you've logged into the wrong account if it looks like all your information is missing. So, just make sure you remember which email address you use for FishingBooker, so that you can log in easily afterwards. You can also log in with your Facebook or email account, just be sure to connect them on our website first.
you don’t want to accidentally create two accounts, that can get really confusing. One of the most common questions we get from captains is “how do I get through to my customers?”
You can find customers’ contact information alongside their booking details. This will show up whenever you have an upcoming trip.
You can also avoid having to type by prepping template messages that you can share on the go. It’s super quick and easy. Cat will tell you more about this. You can do all this from your bookings page – which you can also access through your calendar!
Just click on the booking ID and you’ll get your customer’s name and phone number, as well as a link to instant messaging. Here you can save a lot of time by preparing template messages which we call “Safe Responses”. Just scroll to the bottom of any instant messaging conversation, click the little paper icon and add a new response. Then you can get all your customers ready in just a couple of taps!
The vast majority of trips go ahead without a problem. But occasionally things don’t go to plan. If you have an urgent issue about your upcoming bookings, we’re here to help. Just go to our contact page, click the section that describes your urgent problem, and you’ll be able to get through to us.
Now that you’ve watched this video, go ahead and take about 5 minutes to make sure your app is up to date. Find your upcoming bookings, connect with your customers, block out some dates, and get ready to take your customers out on the water! We hope these tips will save you time over the next month. Access your Account with Ease
Very little is more frustrating than getting locked out of something. We’ve all been there.
If you accidentally sign in to FishingBooker with an email that isn’t registered with your account, it may look like you’ve lost all your details. This can also happen if you try to sign in on the app with a Facebook, Google, or Apple account that isn’t already associated with your profile.
Connect your social accounts in your settings, and you won’t have this problem. You can access this here when you’re logged into your FishingBooker account.
Tip: Connect your Facebook and Google accounts to your FishingBooker account, and you’ll be able to login without your password on the app or on the website.
Stay in Touch
Did you know you can find customers’ phone number alongside their booking details? This shows up whenever you have an upcoming trip.
You can also avoid typing the same message again and again by prepping template messages. Share these on the go, and you’ll be able to give your customers thorough, up to date information – without losing time.
Finally, if you need to talk to us about your bookings, just get in touch. Our booking specialists are here to help.
Tip: Set up Saved Responses and you’ll save hours of time preparing your customers for their trip.
Now, take 5 minutes to set up your account so it’s faster and easier to manage in the future. Check your app is up to date, find your upcoming bookings, connect with your customers, and block out the dates you can’t fish.
Then, get ready to get back out on the water!
