From the San Diego Bay all the way to the deep Pacific, you'll be able to get a taste of what fishing in Southern California is all about. Known for its beautiful beaches and amazing year round weather, San Diego is nicknamed America's finest city.\r\n\r\nSan Diego offers arguably the best fishery on the entire West Coast. The number of charters available, coupled with its endless fishing opportunities, makes this town one of the country's top fishing destinations.\r\n\r\nHere in Southern California, California our primary fishing season is the summer and in the summertime we go after Tuna, all the different varieties of Tuna, Yellowfin, Bluefin, Skipjack and then we also have Yellowtail. Those are primarily in the summer, and then in the winter or year round, there is bottom fishing that we fish in the local kelp beds.\r\n\r\nThe San Diego Bay presents an array of opportunities for inshore fishermen.\r\n\r\nI think that the best trip for your average angler is probably the four hour trip in the bay.\r\n\r\nYou get to catch a lot of fish in four hours. You get to see some cool stuff in the bay. There's always something to look at. We've never had a day where we don't catch anything in the bay. It's always fun. So, you know, it's good for kids or people just trying to get into fishing, but it's also fun for, you know, people who are more hardcore into bass fishing and stuff like that.\r\n\r\nSpots like Embarcadero Park and Shelter Island are perfect areas for targeting Spotted Bay Bass, Halibut, and Bonefish.\r\n\r\nIf you're itching for an offshore adventure, San Diego's long range fishing trips are unlike anything else you'll ever experience.\r\n\r\nMany locals will tell you that the amount of action they encounter in a year is equivalent to what some anglers experience in a lifetime.\r\n\r\nCatalina and San Clemente Islands are some of the most acclaimed offshore fishing spots of Southern California. An extended day out here can reap lots of rewarding catches. You'll have the chance to target large Yellowtails, Dorado, various Tuna species, and many more. Many San Diego charters also offer trips to the Coronado Islands, located just across the Mexican border. This group of islands is a wild refuge, attracting scores of large migratory fish such as Yellowfin and Bluefin Tuna.\r\n\r\nIf you have a few days to spare, you can even take a long range trip out to Guadalupe Island and several other hot spots along the Mexican coast.\r\n\r\nJust be sure to bring your passport before you head out, and you're good to go.\r\n\r\nTo experience the most of your trip, we recommend booking a local fishing charter. You'll have an expert captain who knows all the best spots to get you hooked up, and the best part is you can have your fish cleaned and filleted so you can enjoy a delicious meal after the trip. Fuel, bait, and tackle are usually included in the price as well. Just be sure to purchase a fishing license, grab some sun protection, and pack your favorite snacks and drinks for the ride.\r\n\r\nFishing in San Diego is a once in a lifetime experience that should be at the top of any angler's bucket list.\r\n\r\nFishingBooker makes planning your trip extra easy.
