Account Manager

Business Development & Relations - Hybrid
This position is no longer available.

FishingBooker is the world's leading online travel company specializing in fishing. We are one of Southeast Europe's fastest-growing tech companies, enabling easy access to great fishing for anglers everywhere.

As an Account Manager at FishingBooker, you will be responsible for improving our vendor performance. In doing so, you will be a major part of building lasting relationships with our captains (vendors) all over the world.

Through various initiatives and regular communication with our captains, you will identify gaps in our partners’ knowledge of the platform and develop better, more personal, relationships with our partners.

About you

Due to our current team dynamics, we’re looking for someone who has experience in the customer-facing industry (1+ years of experience in business development, account management, or customer service).

Due to the nature of the role and our main markets being located in the US, your English (both written and spoken) should be native/near-native so that you are able to communicate flawlessly with our partners. It’s a plus (but not mandatory) if you speak another foreign language due to our diverse markets (such as Spanish). You should also be able to travel to the US (you either already have a visa or are able/eligible to apply for one). We expect you to have a valid driver’s licence because of the regular US trips where we drive to various locations.

The type of degree you have doesn’t really matter. What’s really important is what you can do and how you do it. It’s important that you consider yourself as someone who has a nurturing mentality with strong planning skills and the ability to work independently. You’re an exceptional listener and naturally curious with a strong desire to learn. You’re a natural on the phone and driven to call multiple times a day at different times to reach a captain.

We’re looking for people who care about teamwork, openness, and transparency because that’s what we’re all about. We value your opinion and ideas but also want someone who understands the importance of others being heard. We challenge each other, but all remember that we’re here for the same purpose: to do good work together. That means you’re okay with direct feedback (giving and receiving) and you’re willing to support your team members with other initiatives.

Pay and conditions

  • Full-time contract. FishingBooker hires on a full-time employment contract (ugovor o radu) and offers 23 days of paid vacation, plus public and religious holidays observed in Serbia.

  • We’re proactive about sharing salary information, the salary for this role (depending on seniority) is 1,075 EUR net.

  • Clear career path. When we start working together, every six months (April and October) you will receive a detailed performance review from your team lead with clear instructions on how to grow further. During these periods, you will also be eligible for salary increases based on how you progress in line with the career path.

  • Flexible hours. You are free to set your own working hours, as long as they allow for good collaboration with your teammates and the US market. At FishingBooker, we value flexibility, freedom, and focus.

  • Remote-friendly workspace. Once you’re fully onboarded, you will be able to choose whether you come to the office, work from the comfort of your home or can mix it up however you'd like. As it's necessary to come to the office from time to time (ideally once per week) we are looking for candidates based in Serbia. Our office is next to Delta City in Novi Beograd and has plenty of parking available if you prefer to come to the office by car.

  • Private health insurance. You'll have a chance to participate in our private health insurance plan, fully subsidized by FishingBooker. Additionally, if you are interested in transferring your family to our insurance partner, we can assist with negotiating terms.

  • Mentor and a full onboarding plan. Although we are looking for someone with experience, you will be assigned a mentor as well as a full onboarding plan where you will learn the ins and outs of the business, how we work in the team, and our tech stack. We also provide company-sponsored books, training, and courses.

  • Company-sponsored fishing trips. It’s important that you get to experience the product FishingBooker sells, so we will treat the whole company to a fishing trip every year. In 2019 we went to Rovinj, Croatia and in 2018 we went to Fujairah, UAE. You will have a diverse team of supportive, caring, and friendly colleagues from all over the world with whom you’ll be able to enjoy additional team-building activities over the course of the year.

  • Apple equipment. Our standard equipment setup typically includes the latest Apple Macbook Air 13’, coupled with one monitor and the Magic Mouse / Keyboard combo.

About the job

Account Managers are responsible for building and nurturing lasting relationships with our captains on the FishingBooker platform. You will do this by conducting account reviews (calls) with captains to dig deep and figure out what they’re unsure of when it comes to our platform and what we can do to improve the ongoing relationship.

Account Managers are encouraged to actively collect feedback and suggest new ideas. The working hours are flexible and you have the freedom to organize your day in a way that suits you best. The vast majority of our vendors are located in the US time zone, so it’s necessary to conduct several calls in the evening(e.g. you will need to make calls at 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm, etc.).

Due to the current team dynamics, you see yourself and are willing to develop in this position for at least two years. The size of the team allows all team members to grow and develop themselves personally and professionally.

About the team

Our Business Development team currently consists of eight members - a Team Lead, three Account Executives, three Account Managers, and a Market Analyst. This allows us to cover various aspects of the Business Development strategy, specifically related to vendor performance and product improvements based on feedback received during outreach (or while on-site in the USA).

The successful Account Manager will drive vendor performance and help us improve our relationship with our Captains. You would be managing all accounts through our CRM (Freshsales Suite).
