Reef Donkey Charters is located in South Pasadena offering inshore flats and bay fishing as well as near and offshore reef and wreck fishing.
Captain Bart Johnson is a fourth generation St. Petersburg native with over 35 years of experience fishing in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. His vessel also carries with it Federal Reef Fish and Federal Pelagic permits allowing his customers to keep their fish while fishing outside the state water border of 9 miles. Seasons and size restrictions apply in accordance to the federal guidelines
Capt. Johnson operates a fully custom and spacious 30 ft Pro Cat powered by a twin 250 HP Suzuki Offshore engine. With a maximum cruising speed of 50 knots and the ability to fish in as little as 12” of water or run 30 miles offshore, no fish is safe. Features include a custom half fishing tower, i-Pilot trolling motor, two power poles, three live wells, two fish storage boxes, dry storage and a Porta Potti for emergencies. It uses the latest in Simrad electronics including fishfinder, GPS, Sonar and 3-D Structure scan with VHF radio. It can comfortably accommodate up to 4 anglers.
Reef Donkey uses a variety of expert fishing techniques including trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, and handline fishing using the latest in Penn fishing equipment. They offer flexible inshore, nearshore and offshore trips allowing for a wide range of species including but not limited to Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead, Flounder, Pompano, Grouper, Snapper, Hogfish, King and Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna, Permit, African Pompano, Amberjack, Barracuda, Sharks, Goliath Grouper, and many more.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are provided throughout the trip, as well as lures, live bait, and fishing licenses for everyone on board. The boat has 55qt and 25qt K2 coolers for your drinks and snacks. In addition, your catch will be cleaned and filleted for you at the end of the day.
