You will go out aboard a 17-foot Maverick HPX skiff, which comes powered by a 70 HP engine. This is a stable and well-maintained boat, perfect for accommodating up to two anglers. The skiff performs well in the flats and is rigged with modern navigational electronics and safety equipment, along with an ice-box for the catch and a live well loaded with bait.
When fishing the backcountry waters, you will be targeting a variety of fish species that call the Keys home. If you want to enjoy the thrill of sight fishing, and fly fishing you will be casting for Permit, Tarpon, Jack Crevalle, Bonefish, Barracuda, and even Blacktip and Lemon Shark. The captain will push the boat across the water and point to the target.
A trip comes with all you need to make an outstanding catch possible. You will be provided with quality fly fishing equipment, as well as rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures. You won’t have to worry about purchasing a fishing license either. Just bring your favorite snacks and the desire to catch fish!
