Booked a 3/4 day fishing charter.  Was advertised that we would target Mahi, Snapper, Tuna, Marlin, Sailfish and more.  Well, we didn’t see any of those fish.
We trolled for first 2 hours without seeing a bite and then bottom fished for next 4 hours.  All fish were small and most were tiny.  Biggest fish was probably 12-14 inches and some fish were only 5 inches with most being around 8 inches.  We only set up on 2 spots on the reef and the crew seemed content that this was a successful approach.  Me and my two sons fish at home and from our perspective this was disappointing.  As the tackle on the boat was very light and rigged for light fishing, it looked like this was the plan all along.  We figured we were in the Bahamas and for $1,000+ we could catch something better than a small porgie (our biggest fish that we can catch all day long in NJ) or something bigger than we could catch off the dock at our hotel.  Overall, a disappointing trip for the money and I think if they really wanted to they could have tried harder to put us on some better fish instead of just saying nothing to troll and spending the rest of the time anchored at the same spot and getting some tiny fish.  Also, beware as they hit you with a 5% upcharge if you pay with credit card which was not advertised.

This is not an honest representation of yesterday’s trip.

First of all. We keep all tackle on board our boats. We’re always prepared to fish deep sea or inshore upon customers requests.

You originally requested to Fish offshore for big game but after a short 2 hours You gave up on deep sea fishing. Our crew did everything in their power to show you a great time. We have no control of the outcome of the fishing if our customers are not willing to invest the time and patience when it comes to deep sea fishing. Yes it’s fishing and not catching but you’ll never be successful if you don’t contribute a fair attempt into big game fishing.

You then requested to Fish inshore for small fish using light tackle. You were informed repeatedly about the size of the fish that will be caught.

You are disgruntled that you did not catch a billfish on the reef which is literally impossible.

Unfortunately fishing for Big Game in Nassau is only done by trolling offshore.
Our reef fishing here consists of mostly small fish ranging from 7-16 inches. Yes the fish are small but you get lots of action with light spinning gear.

Unfortunately we don’t have oil rigs that we can cast to like they do in the Gulf for amberjack, tuna etc.

We only offer deep sea fishing and inshore fishing so if you give up on one method we only have 1 more to offer you. You refused to continue to Fish deep sea due to your impatience so you requested to Fish on the reef for small fish using light gear.

You also did not read the booking policy carefully which clearly states that there is a 5% surcharge on all credit cards. This is posted in the terms and you were again reminded when you emailed me personally about the departure times etc.
You chose to pay with a credit card and were informed that there’s a 5% surcharge on credit cards.
You also had the option to pay with cash and save the 5% in which you declined.

Our targeted species are also stated on our listing.

We never make any extra charges unless it’s the Customer’s requests for tips etc.
