Based in between the Comox Valley and Campbell River, Crabby’s Fishing Charters stands ready to take you to the best fishing spots in either (or both) of these locations. Captain Chris Steinbach will be there to show you what makes British Columbia’s spring and summer seasons so great for fishing.
Your boat is a 28’ Osprey that’s powered by a pair of 200 HP Evinrude engines and boasts a top cruising speed of 32 knots. You will find a fully private head aboard, as well as an enclosed cabin with all the necessary safety gear and navigation electronics needed for a productive trip. Worth mentioning is the fact that its deck is double the size of most other local boats, with plenty of space for up to four anglers to cast lines in comfort.
The main fishing season runs from April through September, when you have good odds of hooking a number of different fish, many of them quite tasty too. Be on the lookout for especially big Chinook Salmon as some can reach over 30 lbs in these waters. Other species you can go after include Rockfish, Halibut, Prawns, and Crabs.
Whether it’s trolling for Salmon or bottom fishing for Rockfish and Halibut, Captain Chris will make sure you’re using the most suitable techniques for the job at hand. The spectacular sights of mountains and waterfalls will stay with you for a long time, and you might even see some whales, dolphins, or bears.
Crabby’s Fishing Charters will provide you with all the rods, reels, and tackle you’ll need. Capt. Chris will clean and fillet your catch so you don’t have to. Just be sure to bring a valid Canadian fishing license, as well as some drinks or snacks if you’re so inclined and you’re all set to experience fishing in British Columbia at its best!
