Step on board his 17' ClackaCraft drift boat, a classic vessel that can have you and 2 of your fishing friends on board. The fishfinder, paired with the captain's extensive knowledge, will get you to the fishing grounds before you know it.
The day will be spent targeting Steelhead, Coho Salmon, and Chinook Salmon, surrounded by Oregon's beautiful scenery. You'll use a range of techniques, depending on your experience level, from trolling to jigging. Even the little ones will enjoy this trip, getting back to nature and away from the WiFi.
All rods and reels are provided for the day. The gear won't let you down when reeling in your trophy catch. Food and drink for the day will also be supplied. Please purchase a fishing license before the trip from Oregon's Department of Fish and Wildlife Office – if you've never purchased a license before, your captain is happy to answer any questions about this. For the species that can be kept (the captain will let you know which ones are in season) he will happily fillet them for you.

I do a lot of Bass fishing in my home state of Iowa. I have never caught anything larger than 5 pounds. After just a few hours with Barry, I landed a 8+ pound Silver Coho Salmon! His expertise and experience on the river was astounding! I learned so much from him! I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting this area. Aside from the great fishing opportunity, there are also breathtaking landscapes to see on the trip.
Chris and I went on an excellent guided fishing adventure today with Captain Barry Buckland of Sandy River Guide Service. We didn’t catch what we were hoping for (Chinook Salmon or Steelhead) - Chris caught a carp and threw it back. But we learned so much and had such a wonderful time! Captain Barry was extremely knowledgeable and taught us which type of poles, reels, line, and bait to use, how to cast, where the fishing holes in the river are, and lots more. I planned this for my husband's birthday, even though we didnt catch anything it was a very nice educational and peaceful time aboard Barry's drift boat! He was so great with our young 8 year old kiddo with demos and having her help roe! Will be going again during the busier fishing season.
Captain Barry was awesome! His knowledge, patience and attentiveness was refreshing. And the 10 lb. steelhead was not too shabby either, a real beauty! The river was a bit muddy, but we still had an amazing time. We learned quite a bit. Our guide was very hospitable, had drinks and snacks available to us and was very kind. We had a great time a will be back.
