Braveheart Fishing Charters - Dragonheart

Fishing in South Africa has always been a special treat for any angler who was visiting the area. The great diversity of the local species, coupled with the amazing nature made for a perfect fishing location. Combine that with Braveheart Fishing Charters’ local knowledge and you have a recipe for a fantastic fishing adventure!

Climb aboard their vessel, a 30’ Carry Cat Marine center console, built recently (in 2017). She’s spacious for her size, allowing up to 6 anglers to fish at the same time. The power she has is also notable, with dual Yamaha engines churning out a total of 450 HP. The shape of her hull allows her to develop a maximum cruising speed of 48 knots, allowing you to fly across the water to the best fishing grounds.

Captain Steve Goosen will be your guide on this amazing journey. He’s been fishing for decades now and his vast experience is at your disposal. The fish you’ll be targetting are varied – Yellowtail Snappers, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Snoek, Geelbek, Mahi Mahi, Carpenter, Sharks, and others. The main fishing techniques are trolling and bottom fishing, especially around the reefs and wrecks that dot the area near the coast.

The crew will provide services to clean and fillet your catch as part of the trip price. Pickup is available from hotels or jetties near the listed location, contact the captain prior arriving to confirm details. There is a minimum age policy of 3 years for the bottom fishing and cruise trips, while the offshore trip doesn’t accept kids younger than 10.

Captain Steve Goosen has a treasure trove of fishing experience under his belt, as he's been a charter captain for over two decades. He says that he was made for the sea and that he isn't afraid to go out to the deeper waters in search of the large pelagic trophy fish. His favorite thing about being a charter captain is the fact that his office is outdoors and that he gets to come to the fresh smell of the ocean every single day.
