Description

Specialising in high-speed longer range charters.

We target the spectacular *Sardine runs in Auckland Hauraki Gulf. We fish both the East coast and West coast for Snapper, Kingfish, Marlin, Tuna, Grouper and Hapuka.

The Sardine or Pilchard run workups include 100s of Gannets, Dolphins, Sharks, Snapper, Kingfish, and the odd huge Brydes Whale. This is a site to behold and nature at it’s most spectacular along with fishing at it’s best with everyone on board often hooked up at once.

Seasons:
Late December to May/June (Summer to Autumn)
Marlin -
There is often a congregation of Marlin during May/June that sees the best fishing of the year.
Blue Striped and Black Marlin are all common in NZ with Striped marlin making up the majority of the Marlin caught. The average Blue Marlin in NZ weighs around 190KG with Striped Marlin averaging 90kg and Black Marlin averaging 180KG.
Grander Blue and Black Marlin are caught during most seasons with many more lost.
When the Marlin are here the Tuna are also here.
Kingfish and Snapper - During this time, the Kingfish congregate around reefs and the Snapper come in shallow over the foul and up the harbours. Gannet, Dolphins and whale workups are less common when fishing for Kingfish and Snapper but the actual fishing can be fantastic as the fish crowd into shallow areas to spawn

May to September (Winter)
Workups start again around April and go right through to September. The metabolism is down on most fish and bite times are often shorter but when they are on there can be some spectacular fishing for Snapper and Kingfish.
Marlin is rare after mid-June.
Big Albacore Tuna are an option.

September to December (Spring to Early Summer)
The workup fishing improves and peaks from October to November but can be fantastic right throughout this time.
