Irish Wake Fishing invites to enjoy the thrill of catching fish in Mobile Bay on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Explore the inshore and nearshore waters all throughout the bay and up to 9 miles out of the Gulf of Mexico.
Whether you are a hard-core angler, novice or child, there is a trip for you. Captain JayO is a seasoned tournament angler with numerous wins and showings to his credit who is ready to share his knowledge with you. He is an Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo Champion (world’s largest Fishing Rodeo according to Guinness Book of Records), 3 time champion of the annual year-long multiple species Big Fish Contest put on by the Alabama Coastal Fishermen’s Association and has broken 3 all-time ACFA records with 2 still standing.
Irish Wake offers several types of packages from hard-core trophy hunting to just catching fish and sunset cruises. Your captain’s biggest passion is chasing trophy Trout with hardbait and pogey and stalking the elusive Tripletail.
Apart from those, you will be able to get your hands on Kingfish, Sheepshead, Flounder, Ground Mullet, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Cobia, and even Red Snapper when the season allows.
Irish Wake Fishing will take you out aboard a brand-new 24’ Bay boat, which has plenty of space for up to 4 anglers. The boat comes powered by a 350 HP Mercury engine and is rigged with everything you need for a successful day on the water.
All gear, tackle, bait, licenses, and catch cleaning will be provided by the captain. Please note, that smoking is not allowed onboard.

Awesome experience. Extremely knowledgeable Captain Jay and he is a great person to be with. We had an excellent trip going after this elusive fish. I will certainly go again next time we vacation at Dauphin Island! Truly recommend Irish Wake Fishing.

Afternoon half-day trip with Captain Jay
Went out with Captain Jay on 6-14-18. I’ve been fishing recreationally for 20+ years, and have had my fair share of guided trips also. I have to say this was one of the best trips I’ve have. First class boat and equipment, very knowledgeable captain. I will definitely be making a trip back to Mobile Bay from Texas to go fishing with Captain Jay again. He put us on the fish in the action never stopped until the box was full of a limit.
