Tailhunter Outdoor Adventures – Edgewater

Central Florida is home to many amazing fish species that reside in both fresh and salt water. The many Inlets to the east provide excellent grounds for fish to group, combined with the estuaries and hidden bays to the west make Edgewater a unique fishing location – its name well deserved. Tailhunter Outdoor Adventures have their finger on the pulse of the fish in this vibrant area and will put you on the hottest bite around!

Join Captain John Tarr on board their Gordon Boatworks Waterman, a flats boat that’s perfectly suited for these waters. She’s designed to get you anywhere in the shallows that permeate the area – she’s stable, dry, and quiet. Bring your fishing friends, as she can hold up to 3 anglers in comfort.

The fish you will target on this charter are gorgeous species such as Redfish, Snooks, Tarpon, Snappers, Spotted Seatrouts, Tilapia, Bass, and others. Captain John will assist and instruct you in catching these beasties while spinning with light tackle, fly fishing, or take to the prow of the boat and bow fish! You will be provided with high-quality equipment, so you can fully focus on the bite. Custom rods with Shimano reels for spinning, as well as Nautilus fly rods, and Sage fly reels are all available for use.

All required equipment is supplied by the charter operator. Live bait is available if requested and comes included in the trip price. Customers should remember to bring sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, adequate clothing, and a waterproof camera.

Fishing has always been a part of my life. From the age of 3, when I caught my first Largemouth Bass in Arkansas, the water and fishing is where I wanted to spend the majority of my time. When I moved to Florida in 1983, my grandfather took me under his wing and introduced me to saltwater fishing on the flats. It didn't take long before I knew I had discovered my new passion in life. I was blessed to get a boat at the age of 9 and to live in an area and time when I could explore and fish on my own. It may have only been a 14' skiff, but I felt like a world explorer. I finally had the opportunity to turn my passion into my job. I love sharing my experience, expertise, and love of the outdoors with others. For me, there is nothing better than watching someone's tension melt away as we push away from the dock and head out to the adventure that awaits. Whether the fish cooperate or not, the friendships and memories make this job the best in the world! Beginner or expert, I'm here.
