About Capt. Tyler:
I grew up in San Diego and caught the fishing addiction at a young age. I spent every summer hanging out at the docks where my grandpa kept his sailboat, bumming rides to the local lakes whenever I could, and fishing for anything and everything I could catch. I grew up doing a lot of saltwater fishing too, but bass fishing, in particular competitive tournament fishing is my passion. I moved to Texas in 2010 to attend Baylor University, where I eventually became their collegiate bass fishing team’s president. After graduating college I moved to Austin for a job in real estate, but soon realized being outdoors makes me a lot happier than sitting behind a computer. What began as a part time gig turned into a full time career with the support of my wonderful wife. Unlike a lot of the other guides in this area I do this full time and spend over 250 days a year on the water.

Fishing is my passion and I love sharing that with my clients. Something you’ll find unique about my approach to guiding is that it’s very educational. Not only will I put you on fish I will also teach you things like how to locate fish, why we are fishing certain areas, why we are throwing particular baits, how weather and lake conditions affect the bass etc. etc. I even offer a special trip I call my Coaching Trips, these trips are all about education and less about running my honey holes. If you’re especially looking to learn message me for more info!

My name is Tyler Torwick, I have been fishing all my life and it is a true passion of mine. I grew up begging my parents for rides to the local lake back home in San Diego, CA, and it's been an addiction ever since. I moved to Texas to attend Baylor University where I really got into competitive Bass fishing. I was the president of the Baylor University Bass fishing team and competed in numerous collegiate tournament including qualifying for the FLW college series national championship. After graduating, I moved to Austin and have spent my time learning the local lakes and gaining the skill needed to guide on them. In addition to guiding I also fish several large tournament trails throughout central Texas. I have numerous wins and podium finishes on the lakes that I guide on! If you are looking to refine your skills as an angler, or just flat out catch fish, I can help!

Phenomenal Springtime Fishing on Lake Tr
Phenomenal Springtime Fishing on Lake Tr

The fishing couldn't be better! Every year I look forward to March and April. Current water temps are in the low 60's and the weather has been warm. This combination has the fish up shallow feeding before the spawn. There are fish on beds right now, but the best bite has been targeting pre-spawn fish. If you book a trip right now you can expect a variety of techniques. Small swimbaits and crankbaits have been very productive. Soft plastics such as drop shots, Texas rigs, and carolina rigs have also been catching a lot of fish. I would expect the topwater bite to be turning on very soon. Once the water temps get into the mid 60's is when I tie on a lot of topwater plugs. My most recent trip caught 24 bass, the day prior had 33... those were on half day trips with beginner anglers. We probably had half as many fish jump and spit the bait too! There is no better time than right now to be on the water!
