Lauret's Guide Service
Captain Mike is known for doing whatever he can to get you on the fish. In the CCA Tide magazine he was once described as the most energetic guide the writer had ever fished with. What more could you want from your captain when inshore fishing in Texas?
You will spend the day in a 25’ Boston Whaler. She has a maximum capacity of 4 guests – you and your friends and family can fish with ease without crossing rods. She has a 225 HP Yamaha engine with a staggering cruising speed of 40 knots. Paired with fishfinder and Capt. Mike’s amazing knowledge of the area, you will be hooking and reeling in the fish in no time.
You will target a range of fish. You can expect to hook Jack Crevalle, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Blacktip Shark, Bull Shark, Tiger Shark, and Kingfish. This trip really has something for everyone.
Laurets Guide Service use quality rods and reels on all of their trips. You will use either bait casters or spinning reels. If you haven’t fished before, don’t worry, Capt. Mike loves to teach people all the steps of fishing, especially how to cast. He uses Lew’s Reels and Castaway Rods, so you will be fishing like a pro before you know it.
Children of any age are welcome on board. Capt. Mike took his own sons fishing twice a week when they were younger, so has plenty of experience in teaching kids. He knows how important it is to pass the rod onto the younger generation, and will happily show them step by step how to fish.
You will need to bring snacks, plenty of water, and a small cooler for your food and drink to stay chilled in throughout the trip. Don’t forget your polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, and fishing license. As with all boats, please wear non-black soled tennis shoes. Capt. Mike will fillet your catch for you, so you only have to worry how you will cook them when you get home!
