Tampa Bay Fishing Adventures invites you to team up with Captain Treg Renoud and make your angling dreams come true. Whether it’s fishing in the Gulf of Mexico within 9 miles of shore, or in Tampa Bay, Captain Treg has the know-how to see you through.
You will be fishing aboard a 26’ Rampage walkaround with a small cabin and toilet. It’s powered by a single 260 HP Mercruiser V8 engine. There is also a bimini top to keep you in the shade on hot summer days. The cockpit is huge, offering ample space for your group with padded bolsters and comfortable seating.
Capt. Treg’s specialty is bottom fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Mackerel, Shark and other bottom species over and around reefs, ledges, bridges, and wrecks. Bottom fishing is fun for novices and experts alike. There is a large variety of species to catch, and they can vary in size from 1 lb. to 350 lbs. Some want to drag you into a hole while others will take off on a dead run. There is lots of action and the captain will take you to a new spot when the bite slows.
Expect to use cut bait mostly consisting of Threadfin Herring, Sardines, Squid, and Cut Grunts. Occasionally live bait is also used. Captain Treg provides the boat, fuel, fishing licenses, fishing tackle, bait, instruction, fish filleting (within reason) and years of knowledge.
A cooler can be provided on request for your food and drinks but you will need to bring a bag of ice for yourselves. Bring food and drinks in a small to medium sized cooler, polarized sunglasses, camera, hat, sunscreen, as well as appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting stained. It’s all good fishing year-round, so be sure to drop by whenever you get the chance!
