The blue waters off the coast of Florida are known worldwide as home to some of the finest sportfishing. Captain Joey Spaulding, at the helm of LegaSea Charters, is keen on showing you just why this locale has its strong reputation!
Legasea is a 1982-made, 32’ Buddy Davis Sport Fish, that can carry up to 6 fishermen per trip, excluding crew. The boat sports an air-conditioned salon with plenty of seating area for your group to wind down at any given moment. The vessel is also outfitted with a brand new bathroom and an 80-gallon well for live bait, as well as a built-in cooler for drinks.
Your captain, Joey Spaulding, is a 4th generation fisherman with over 15 years of experience on the productive Islamorada waters. The Legasea trips are heavily customizable: depending on your desires, Captain Spaulding can go after anything from Sailfish and Mahi Mahi, to some of the bottom fishing favorites like Yellowtail Snapper and Grouper. You’ll usually be venturing about 5-6 miles offshore. All fishing equipment is provided by the crew, as is the appropriate live bait and lures. If you’d like your catch cleaned and bagged once you’re back on the docks, the crew is happy to oblige.
Kids aged 5 and up are more than welcome on board, the captain will supply life jackets in all sizes. You don’t need a fishing license – the captain’s license covers all passengers.
