Erie Eyes Angler is based in Port Clinton, Ohio. The company charters the waters of the western and central basins of Lake Erie. Their season begins in April and goes through October.
Captain Brian Schmidt has well over two decades of fishing experience on Lake Erie. Along with his first mate, they collectively have over 50 years of angling know-how under their belts when it comes to these famous waters! Your captain uses this wealth of knowledge to target Walleye and Yellow Perch, the finest species that Great Lake has to offer.
Lake Erie’s Walleye and Perch population has exploded in the past few years. Perch fishing is a great opportunity to bring the kids up and catch a lot of fish. On your day out with Erie Eyes Angler, you will be able to troll, cast, and drift. When targeting Yellow Perch, you will be using spreaders and shiners and crank bait, spoons, and bottom bouncers for Walleye.
Your boat for the day will be a 29’ Scarab, fresh on the water in 2002. This spacious vessel comes powered by twin 250 HP Yamaha engines and is rigged with top-notch gear and tackle by Daiwa and Pflueger. There is a GPS and a fishfinder to build up a clear image of where Walleye and Perch are hiding, along with a livewell which you will be able to fill as a part of your trip.
Capt. Brian will provide you with rods, reels, tackle, and lures. His First Mate, who is also a registered nurse, will assist you throughout the adventure. Don’t forget to bring a valid fishing license, drinks, and food with you. You are welcome to bring beer, but hard liquor and glass bottles are not allowed.
