Fish On Sportfishing invites you to the beautiful shores of Herradura to battle the big game legends that rule these deep, warm waters. Spend the day aboard a reliable, well-maintained boat helmed by an experienced, local captain. This is what Costa Rica does best, and you won’t find a more friendly or hardworking team anywhere around.
The “Fish On” is a 36’ Cabo Yachts sportfisher powered by twin 500 HP Caterpillars up to an impressive cruising speed of 30 knots. The vessel can carry up to 8 passengers, but groups of five better number for the fishing itself.
The boat boasts an air-conditioned interior with an enclosed head, a galley, a cozy cabin, and plenty of comfortable seating. Step out on deck, and you can relax and sunbathe on the front deck, or climb up to the boat’s tall tower to take in the view in style.
But you’re not here for a cruise, you’re here to fish! The Fish On is well-named, with a huge range of tech and equipment to make sure your lines never stay still for long. GPS and fishfinder sound out the depths and get you locked on the best spots around, while outriggers throw your lines out wide. There’s also a fighting chair to take the strain against pelagic monsters like Blue Marlin.
On half day trips, you can hook into some real monsters like Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Tuna. Book in for a full day, and you’ll head up to 25 miles out to fish famous spots like the 26 Rock, The Craters (Los Crateres), the Corner (La Esquina) and more. These are the home of giants, with four different Billfish and a half dozen other big game pelagics to choose from.
All trips come with tournament-grade Shimano tackle, a selection of lures, and plenty of brined Ballyhoo to draw the fish in close. You will be given snacks and drinks to keep you going, and will also get lunch on full day trips. Just grab your fishing license, camera, shades, and sunscreen, and head down to Herradura Beach to start a great day of fishing!
