Alaskan Widespread Fishing - Power Boat

“Come as a client and leave as a friend” is more than a motto for Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures, it is a business and personal practice. Most of the people that come and fish with Mindy and Reubin love fishing. If you love to fish, you already have a common bond!

Maybe it is a sickness that makes the crew wake up at 4 in the morning, sit in the rain or snow, spend their money, and stare hour after hour at the tip of a fishing rod…..all for that strike!

Join Mindy and Reubin and explore the world-famous Kenai River and Alakan famous fisheries, targeting King, Coho, Pink, and Sockeye Salmon, as well as Arctic Char, Steelhead, and Rainbow Trout in season. Your guide will show you the top local techniques to hook your catch, including trolling, back bouncing, casting, drifting, wading, and fly fishing.

While peak season is from May to October, Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures can take you on a trip to remember at any time of year.

You will be fishing aboard a 20’ Willie Predator power boat, built back in 2007 and overhauled in 2015. It comes powered by a single Yamaha engine and can accommodate up to 4 anglers. The boat is rigged with a GPS, a fishfinder to aid your search for the fish, and a livewell loaded with bait to make sure nothing can resist your hooks.

The trips with Alaskan Widespread are all-inclusive; all you have to bring is a valid fishing license, your food, and drinks.

I began fishing at a very young age. I grew up on a lake near the Chattahoochee River in central GA. I spent all my free hours fishing! I don't know why I was so attracted to fishing, but from the first time I had a fishing rod in my hands, I was hooked! I hitch-hiked up the Alcan Highway to Alaska with some friends my junior year in college. I went home, graduated and went to a fishing show with a resume in my hand seeking a job in the fishing industry. I met a lodge owner that hired me as a "beach hand" for his upscale lodge on the Cook Inlet in South Central Alaska. We worked hard every morning and fished hard every afternoon. I guided for the lodge the following 9 years, then started my own guide business in 2001. I met Mindy on the Kasilof River in 2004 and we got married and joined our fishing companies in 2008. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of such an amazing fishery in such an amazing place.
