What A Hawg Charters

13650 Fiddlesticks Blvd
Fort Myers FL, United States

What A Hawg Charters run a variety of trips suited for casual anglers, novice fishermen, and veterans alike. Captain Eric has been guiding clients over 35 years now and can be counted on to get the job done.

You will be fishing on a 19’ Bluewater vessel, equipped with the necessary safety and navigation gear and powered by a 150 HP Mercury engine. The vessel can accommodate up to 4 anglers per trip and has an onboard cooler for any drinks you might decide to bring.

In addition to prolific fishing for Tarpon from April through October, What A Hawg also offer night fishing charters. If you have never been night fishing, Eric claims you have to try it at least once. Fishing itself is often better than during the day, especially for bigger fish (and especially Snook). Being able to see the fish, and watch them chase and bite your lure provides a unique experience, often difficult to obtain during day trips.

Captain Eric’s Saltwater Fly Fishing School welcomes anyone that wants to learn fly fishing as well as experienced freshwater fly fishermen. The skills needed to cast a 10-12wt fly rod are very different from those needed for a light fly rod. Eric also offers a special course for advanced fly fishermen to show them the tricks of managing a heavy rod.

What a Hawg Charters specialize in light tackle and fly fishing for Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, Tarpon and a variety of other species present in the Fort Myers area. All rods, reels, and lures necessary for hooking these and other inshore game fish are available on board. Full fly fishing gear is also provided, complete with the appropriate flies. Bring a pair of polarised sunglasses and the adventure can begin.

Capt. Eric has enjoyed helping others catch fish since he was 10, and it's become a lifelong profession. It's one of the reasons he enjoys writing how-to articles for outdoor publications, organizing fly fishing schools and just taking people fishing.
