Sea Reed Charters
One of our top picks in Fort Myers. Captain Clarence Reed operates Sea Reed Charters in the Fort Myers and Sanibel Island area. With more than two decades of experience, he knows where the fish are and how to get you to them. From veteran anglers to first-timers and family trips, he will ensure the trip is tailored to your individual needs.
Backcountry fishing for big Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout and Tarpon on light tackle is Captain Clarence’s specialty. There’s a variety of other species you can catch in Southwest Florida, but these game fish are the ones he and his guests are certainly most focused towards.
If you’re not all that interested in fishing but would like to see what Sanibel has to offer in terms of sightseeing locations and wildlife, Sea Reed Charters has you covered. Sanibel and Captiva boast a huge amount of shells, as well as Dolphins and Manatees in the local waters. The sights alone will leave you breathless.
You will be fishing aboard a 22 feet long Pathfinder Bay boat which can hold up to 4 anglers per trip and is outfitted with a GPS, Fishfinder, and radio. The vessel allows for an easy access in the shallows, usually less than a foot deep. It also contains a wireless trolling motor to ensure those fish don’t get spooked.
All the necessary fishing gear is provided by the captain, along with the lures and live bait for the trip. Following the journey, Captain Clarence will be happy to clean and fillet the fish you caught, if you so choose. Fishing licenses for all fishermen are included in the price.

Not sure if it was the time of year or what…but given the cost of the trip…would have been nice for my son to have come across some bigger fish. Caught some trout and redfish and a bunch of ladyfish and catfish.
