The Captain:
Captain Ron Hatcher, a native fishing guide of Volusia County, picked up his first rod and reel at age seven and has had saltwater coursing through his veins ever since. He has been fishing Ponce Inlet, the Halifax River and Mosquito Lagoon since his childhood and is one of the most knowledgeable fishing guides along the Volusia and Brevard Coast, Capt. Ron observes the birds, baitfish and telltale signs of feeding fish and guides you to the perfect spot.

The Boat:
A 2014 22’ Skeeter Tunnel Hull. You won’t be crowded on this boat. Plenty of comfortable seating, storage and fishing room for 4 or more.

Powered by a 2014 Yamaha 200 HP SHO, this super high output 4 stroke motor is quick and quiet. With the unique tunnel hull design getting in and out of the back bays and skinny water is a breeze. Equipped with a Humminbird 1199 side sonar and a Minn Kota I Pilot, finding the fish and staying on them is what this system is designed for.

Most reviews I read about guides in general seem to smack of being self-written,  but take this particular review to the bank; this was the best redfishing trip I have ever been on. In four hours, the captain put us on eleven reds, none under thirty pounds! We hooked eleven reds, and boated nine… not too bad!
He was on time, personable, prepared, and put us on fish , big time. Check the pics of the trip. For scale size of fish caught, I’m six foot-five, 285lbs, so those fish we are holding really ARE that big. We caught them on light tackle and it was ‘game on’ !
Capt. Ron knows his stuff. I picked his brain the entire trip and got solid answers, no BS. We were catching fish when people around us were catching nothing. Amazing. It was a grand day and priced quite fair, something which is affordable to most.
Look, I fish all over and have had better days… but not in the last ten years, no bull. Book with this guy and you’ll do well. I’m fixing to book with him again in the next two weeks…before you guys can take all the good dates,lol.

It was a fun trip for my kids for there first time I expected more as far as fish go . I reckon my biggest problem was it was 11:00 not 5 after not 10 after .I don’t know I might be over lookin everything just to let all captains know it is about catching fish not the time .I am in the business of pleasing customers in my on line of work and I feel like it was about time not catching fish and I hate to have to leave this review but it is the way I feel last hole we was at it was no we need to get them up so we can get back we was at bridge at 11 on dot if not early

Certainly I had hoped for a positive review as I made every that the kids caught fish the entire tripand thought they had a great time. I often leave before my chartered time as well as return later, I apologize if you feel you were shorted on your charter. CR
