Victory Charters is operated by Captain Chuck Bishop (Coach). Coach Bishop has been a teacher and coach in the Wilmington area for over 30 years now. Coach is an avid outdoorsman: he tried his hand at fishing, hunting, and scuba diving, to name a few.
Nowadays, he has turned over his whistle for his second passion – fishing. Coach has been fishing and diving on wrecks and reefs off Wrightsville Beach for many years and has the experience needed to lead you to the fish.
You will be fishing on a 26’ Maycraft center console powered by a 300 HP Yamaha outboard with closed transom. The boat has plenty of room for family and friends to enjoy a great day of fishing. Coach welcomes all passengers including children. It can accommodate 4 passengers comfortably and up to 6 on near shore trips.
The waters off Wrightsville Beach provide some of the best fishing on the North Carolina Coast. There are so many reefs and wrecks that attract a wide variety of fish. Trolling nearshore will produce the likes of Bluefish, Spanish and King Mackerel, and the occasional Cobia.
On offshore trips you’ll be going after King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Cobia, Barracuda, Sharks and more. Bottom fishing in these waters is usually for the likes of Flounder, Black Bass, Snapper, and Grouper.
Trips with Coach include your fishing license, rods and reels, bait and all the gear needed to catch your desired fish. He will also clean and fillet all the fish you wish to take home with you. All you need to bring is some snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and a pair of polarized sunglasses. When you’re all packed and good to go, get ready for a great time on the waters off Wrightsville beach!
