If you’re looking for a charter that has a history, excellent service, and loves sharing their knowledge – you’re looking for Batson Charter Boats. Captain John Batson will guide you off the coast of North Carolina in search of the hottest bite around!
You can bring 5 fishing buddies with you on board Capt. John’s 40’ custom Carolina. She was originally launched in 1977 and fully restored in 2017 – like a fine wine she’s only gotten better with age. Her spacious deck and roomy cabin allow you to both chase the bite from side to side and to comfortably rest inside.
She’s fully equipped for serious fishing – you’ll have the best shot at landing that trophy fish! A pair of outriggers drop down when you’re trolling; they allow for more lines in the water and a wider reach. Once you hook up a fish, strap in the fighting chair – you’ll be going after some tough fighters.
The catch list is long and varied, ask the captain for his recommendation based on your skill level and preference. You can pick and choose from the tasty Groupers and Snappers, across the colorful Mahi Mahi, all the way to the fierce Amberjack. You can also target Barracuda, Black Seabass, Spanish and King Mackerel, and whatever else crosses your path.
Batson Charters is a family-owned business that’s been fishing these waters across generations. Let over 100 years of passed down and combined fishing experience between Capts’ Caleb (In Spirit), John, Savannah, James, and Peter, provide you with your next fishing adventure!
Whether you’re a seasoned sea wolf or a first-timer, there’s no better time to book a trip with Batson Charter Boats than now!

We had a great afternoon on the Cheerio Lady! We hit fish right out of the inlet and we had a busy afternoon. Mate Pete, did an awesome job helping us with the reels and lines…we had our teenage daughter and friend with us and Pete was great helping with the girls catches. Captain Drake found the fish again and again. There is nothing better than the panic of several reels going off at once! A great bang for the buck, we were only out for the afternoon. I imagine a fully committed expedition with these folks would be well worth the ride too.
The Cheerio Lady is a classic vessel with all new features, she handled well on the choppy Atlantic. Plenty of room on board. We look forward to seeing Batson’s Charters next time !!
Thanks men for an awesome afternoon ... they will not fail you!! Thanks Captain John for sharing them with us!! Great family pride, guys keep up the great work!!
