RocknRoll Sportfishing & FAD Tours

Herradura
Herradura PU, Costa Rica

Rock & Roll is a 55′ Hatteras powered by twin Detroit 12-71TI’s diesel engines, with a maximum capacity of 20 (12 maximum for fishing trips). The boat is equipped with a fully air-conditioned, carpeted salon, a bathroom and a well-outfitted kitchen, complete with a microwave, refrigerator and an ice maker. The salon also sports an L-shaped sofa, a dining table as well as a multimedia system, including stereo, TV and DVD player.

Rock and Roll has an open flybridge with a seating area that can comfortably fit 10 people. There are 3 cabins with a bathroom on board. All fishing gear is provided by the crew, which includes new Penn International tackle, ranging from 16lbs to 50lbs. The boat is outfitted with triple-spreaded outriggers, a fighting chair for the serious pelagic bites as well as a full tuna tower.

Rock & Roll is operated by captain Brian, a seasoned, bilingual angler with more than a decade of fishing experience. Brian and 2 of his mates specialize in big game fishing, and other than working to put you on fish, they will also be happy to clean and fillet the fish you catch following your trip.

Costa Rica has long been renowned as one of the top sport fishing locations around. Big game fishing, specifically, is what the Central Pacific Region of the country is known for: with over 70 IGFA fishing records set or broker in these waters, the Jaco region has proven its angling value time and time again. The normal fishing locations for the Rock & Roll team are 12-35 miles from the Los Suenos Marina, which translates into about a 45 minute to an hour-long boat ride. As well as offering single day sportfishing tours, the Rock n Roll team also provide reel-screaming FAD fishing adventures, where they travel up to 120 miles offshore to the serious big game fishing grounds. With a comfortable liveaboard setup, this is one of the most exciting and rewarding fishing trips out there!

The boat is moored in the bay.

I started as a mate on a boat and on commercial fishing vessels. I've been fished the FADS for six years now and love the experience of being out at sea with nothing around and looking at the stars. Being the Captain of Rock n' Roll for three years now, I know the boat inside out and love it. I compete in the Offshore World Championship as well as other local tournaments and am going to win. My English, safety and social skills make my clients comfortable and return. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well, I have to first say, that this is my Dad’s boat, and anything he does he does 1st class.  It was a wonderful day fishing and I enjoyed it immensely.  We caught 3 sail fish and about 30 tuna.  3 of the tuna were over 60 lbs.
I don’t know what could have been better.  Even the lunch and fruit was good and so were the beers.  Thanks guys; fantastic job. I’m coming for Christmas and New Years and want a repeat performance!!!

4 Sails, a marlin and about six little tuna!  Definitely one of the highlights of my fishing career.  Captain Brian and his crew are very experienced and professional and know where to find the fish!  I’ve been on about eight other boats in my five years of travel to Costa Rica - and Rock n Roll was by far my best experience.  I’m not going with any other boat. I’m sticking with you guys.
Thanks so much, Carl

Upon arriving at the dock, I was most impressed with the condition of the boat—it was immaculate. One couldn’t help but notice the attention given to the detail of the boat. It appeared in showroom condition.
The crew was awesome, very professional in their duties while being very friendly and taking the time to inform us of what to expect when we were on the water.
Once we started fishing The three man crew worked their tales off to insure our success. We caught a half a dozen nice sailfish, then caught a few snapper and a couple of good sized grouper.
The day could not have been better.I have already booked the boat for a weekend excursion when I return to CR in the spring.
