Skip the hassle of trying to locate your captain at a busy marina. Victory Bay Charters operates out of a peaceful, private dock with incredible views of Lake Pontchartrain and the Salt Bayou marsh. Families, groups, and individuals are all welcome! Whether you’re an avid angler or a beginner, you’ll receive excellent customer service while enjoying an adventurous day of catching fish.

Captain Drake grew up fishing the local marshes, and now as a full time guide targets Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Bass, and Flounder on a daily basis. The goal each and every day is to give people the fishing trip of a lifetime.

A trip with Victory Bay means you’ll be riding in style in a brand new 2023 25’ Blue Wave bay boat. With plenty of space and comfortable seats, this modern vessel is equipped with all the necessary electronics to make catching fish easier. It’s the perfect vessel for pursuing Redfish in the shallows, or safely working the open water for Speckled Trout.

After a morning of catching, Captain Drake will clean and bag your fish to your preference. All the ice you need to keep your fillets fresh on your journey home will be provided at no additional cost. Kids aged 4 and above are welcome and vests in all sizes are provided. Bottled water is available on board. Bring your own snacks and any drinks you want to keep your energy up. Just like other guide services in the area, live bait, when needed is an additional cost and can range from $10-25 per person.

    Enjoy a morning of catching in the beautiful lakes and marshes around New Orleans. Depending on the season, you could catch speckled trout, redfish, black drum, bay snapper, flounder, and bass. Full day trips can last from 4 - 7 hours on the water, depending on the conditions. Please account for an hour of fish cleaning after your return.

    Take a journey to the beautiful outside waters for some exciting trout and bull red fishing. Escape the crowds and see plenty of dolphins, an abundance of coastal bird life as well as a few shark visits. These trips start no later than 5 AM in order to catch as much as possible before the summer heat sets in. Live Bait is recommended and is $10 - $20 per angler.

Growing up in the 80's I was blessed to experience countless fishing adventures out of our camp on Lake Pontchartrain. Many years of spending several days a week on the water from sun up to sun down helped me learn, on my own, the patterns of our wide variety of fish species here as well as tidal and wind effects on their behavior. Louisiana has such an incredible fishery and over time I realized sharing what we have is extremely fun! In 2017 I left a 15 year career in customer service to start a full time guide service. In short time an impressive amount of repeat business was established. Giving customers the fishing trip of a lifetime is the goal each and every day.

Jeff and Luke hired me recently to take them out for their school's fishing rodeo. Winds were up, but that didn't keep Luke from putting a few in the Bluewave through out the morning until we finally found the sizes we needed at the last spot. Luke ended up taking 1st place for trout and 2nd place for sheepshead. I appreciate their business and look forward to their November trip. December dates are starting to book up. Local anglers Chris and Leslie returned for another ride on the Bluewave recently to learn the when and the where for the next few months. We spent the morning focusing on areas where fish will soon be feasting on migrating shrimp. Chris was a little camera shy, but Leslie was happy to pose with all the fish she caught.
