About the Company

We trolled for 8 hrs. No fish. The Pacific was “too rough” so they took us to less fruitful waters in the Sea of Cortez. In the end we spotted one Marlin, but had no action all day. The deckhand was very nice and spoke good English, but the Capt remained quiet and refused to turn back when the deck hand said let’s try again for the one Marlin we spotted. Maybe just an unlucky day, but that’s fishing I guess.

Initial meet up easy to find and smooth. Licence and bait purchase no problem. Jose and Ernesto keen to share their experience and find fish, although as they said it has been a slow month so far. Within an hour hooked into a sailfish estimated as being about 100 lbs, wahoo snaffled the other livebait whilst we were dealing with the sailfish. Boated photo’d and released for another day. Slow morning then a shark about midday. On the way back in spotted a marlin on the surface which took a hastily prepared live bait but then threw the hook.
Met goal 1 which was to catch a fish taller than i was but unfortunately didn’t meet goal 2 which was to catch one heavier than me! next time…..
