Operating out of Lowell, Michigan, Werkman Outfitters was founded by Captain Tom Werkman and his son Max as a result of their shared passion for fishing the bountiful Great Lakes and its tributaries. Their guides have over 75 years of experience combined and a unique fishing philosophy – they employ a variety of fishing methods to catch various species and maximize the productivity on the water.
Werkman Outfitters specialize in fly fishing, back plug, center pin, and traditional light spin fishing on Grand River, White River, and Muskegon River. Depending on the season, you’ll be focusing on fishing different rivers in pursuit of different species.
You’ll be focusing on Salmon during October-mid November, going after Trout from 15th of October to 15th of April, and the best time for Bass and Pike is from the beginning of May until the end of October.
Your river adventure will take place aboard a 16’ Stealthcraft jet boat fresh on the water in 2017. It can take up to two anglers fishing in full comfort, so make sure to bring your best fishing buddy or a family member along. The vessel comes with a Mercury engine, top-notch navigational and safety gear, a wireless trolling motor, and a YETI cooler.
Werkman Outfitters will take care of all the gear needed for a successful day on the water, from top professional Shimano gear to fly fishing equipment by Orvis and ECHO. Full day trips include drinks and lunch (hamburgers, sandwiches, or grilled fish on the river bank if possible). Half day trips include snacks and drinks.
The only thing you have to do is get a valid fishing license before the trip (online or in the tackle shop) and you’re good to go on a freshwater adventure of a lifetime!
