Alabote Sport Fishing Azores
Alabote Sport Fishing Charters specializes in trolling for big game species such as Blue and White Marlin, Bluefin, Bigeye, Yellowfin, and Longfin Tuna, Mako Shark, and Swordfish. They have been operating out of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel that is a part of the Azores archipelago, since 1998.
Your experienced crew is made up of an expert captain and two deck mates, one of whom is a marine biologist. The whole crew has extensive experience of fishing the local waters, having lived and fished in the Azores all their lives.
They fish aboard the “Alabote,” a 32’ Bayliner Explorer 3270 that was built in the USA and has undergone a full restoration by the captain and owner of the company. The boat is well equipped with everything you need for big game fishing, with a very spacious deck, a Game Fisher fighting chair, a range of Garmin electronics and full safety equipment. The boat is powered by twin 260 HP Yanmar engines and can comfortably cater for up to six anglers.
You will be fishing with top of the range big-game equipment, with 80 lb Shimano Tiagra reels and Penn International curved butt rods supplied. If you prefer to fish with stand up tackle, Alutecnos stand-up rods are also available. Penn and Shimano light tackle of 20, 30, and 50 lb weight is also provided and Australian style bucket and stand-up harnesses are taken on board as well.
The charter will also include water, beer, and even red and white wine! Lunch is available on full day trips - you’ll enjoy some of the tastiest fish, chicken, and fried potatoes. Live bait is caught before the trip and included in the price, as well as catch cleaning and filleting. No minimum age for children, so make sure to bring them and create unforgettable family memories!
