Small Craft Advisory - Oconto
From March through November, Captain Mike Kabacinski and his Small Craft Advisory Guide Service put their clients on top of the hottest bite that Green Bay has to offer. Head to Oconto and hop on a 22’ Nitro boat to hone your angling skills and set your own records.
Bring your family, friends, kids, or fishing buddies out with you and get ready to wet a line. You will be able to try your hand at trolling, jigging, or casting – all depending on the season. In spring, you will be chasing the hungry Walleye as they are venturing up the Green Bay tributary river – the Oconto. You will have a great opportunity to land a trophy or catch double-digits!
While jigging is the hottest methods during the spring months, summer is all about trolling. Walleye reside along the warmer shorelines shallow water humps and reefs and later move out into deeper water, which the local guide refer to as “the mud.” There, you will be trolling harnesses or crankbait for your “Eater” fish.
As the summer seasons crawls towards the fall, you will be switching to jigging. As your guide likes to say, “Nothing can beat the “thump” of the Green and Gold giant Walleye on a jig rod!
If a fall fishing trip sounds more exciting, get ready to cast or troll crankbaits and enjoy the lack of fishing pressure.
All trips happen on a 22’ Nitro boat, which is a comfortable vessel that is ideal for a Walleye fishing trip. You will find all gear and tackle, bait, lures, and a cooler for your drinks and snacks available for you to use. Please don’t forget to purchase a valid fishing license.
