Southern Waters Guide Service – Melbourne
If you’ve always wanted to dive into the top-notch inshore fishing that Florida is famous for, then look no further than Southern Waters Guide Service! Captain Caleb McDaniel prides himself on offering an angling experience that introduces his guests to the art of sight-fishing along the plentiful waters of the Indian River.
Capt. Caleb is a native Floridian through and through—he grew up exploring the local mangroves and grass flats, so he really knows where the hottest bite is. He provides guests with the opportunity to be personally guided around these waters by a local captain. You won’t just be anchored in one spot waiting for the fish to come to you—you’ll be cruising the waters using a push-pole, following the angling action wherever it goes!
You’ll be heading out on the waters in a 18’ East Cape flats boat. She’s perfectly built to smoothly cruise shallow, inshore waters, and comes fitted out with a poling platform for maximum sight-fishing potential. The poling platform will have you traveling in near-silence—no fish will be spooked by your arrival! Your vessel can accommodate up to 3 anglers comfortably. 1-2 anglers can fish off of the bow of the boat at the same time.
Capt. Caleb is a fly fishing fanatic, and he specializes in using this method to reel in a bounty of inshore favourites. However, if you’d rather spin for your catch, just let him know. Whether you’re fly fishing or spinning, you’ll be decked out with top-of-the-line Temple Fork Outfitters rods and reels.
As for the species on offer? It really is a ‘who’s-who’ of incredible inshore fish. Expect to come face-to-gills with Redfish, Black Drum Snook, Spotted Seatrout, and the Silver King himself, Tarpon. These guys put up a hard fight, so prepare yourself for battle!
Everything you need for a successful day on the water, such as rods, reels, bait, and a fishing license, is included. Come join Southern Waters Guide Service and experience inshore Floridian fishing at its finest!
