Fishing Smooth Water can’t wait to introduce you to Mooloolaba’s river system. Alongside experienced and friendly local captain Steve Wilkes, you’ll have the chance to reel in a huge variety of spectacular species, using top-quality gear and lures. Come aboard and get ready for an angling experience worth its weight in gold!
Capt. Steve has been exploring river systems since he was a child. He uses his years of knowledge and experience to provide guests with a variety of first-class fishing trips that’ll see you cruising a variety of local fishing grounds. You’ll have the chance to hook estuary, river, and bay species such as Flathead, Bream, Whiting, Trevally, Snapper, Mangrove Jack, and more.
Capt. Steve welcomes anglers of all ages and abilities on board, including children and guests with disabilities. You’ll be heading out to the hotspots onboard the 19’ Bluefin Barracuda aluminium vessel, perfectly built to accommodate up to 4 anglers in comfort and safety. Your vessel is decked out with all the necessary navigational gear, including GPS and fishfinder, as well as life vests, and a live-well to keep your catch fresh.
Depending on the fishing grounds you explore, and the fish you target, you’ll be trying out a variety of techniques to land your dream species. Capt. Steve will have you spinning, popping, trolling, and jigging using light tackle – this allows for plenty of hands-on angling action! Capt. Steve caters to every type of angler, from true novices to hardened fishermen, so don’t worry if you’ve never held a rod before.
Your trip includes top-notch rods, reels and lures (working on replace if lost), plus complimentary soft plastics and general tackle to use during your fishing experience.
