While the full moon lessened our chances of catching fish, my fiancé and I had a blast!

Waking up and immediately sailing out onto the Bahía de Banderas was a beautiful experience. The sunrise was incredible! We saw Brown Pelicans diving for breakfast, Magnificent Frigatebirds soaring overhead, and Royal Terns sweeping the waters for fish. We spotted two whale tails in the distance and one magically blue and neon green fish towards the surface from the front of our boat!

Carlos and his crew member were sweet, professional, and determined to get us a fish. With several lines carrying live bait trailing behind us, I knew the crew did everything they could to hook some fish.

Despite no bites, we left satisfied and left refreshed, excited, and warmed by the morning sun. I highly recommend any fisher, birdwatcher, or boat newbie book this trip for a fresh, oceanic perspective of the gorgeous Puerto Vallarta ¡Muchas gracias, Carlos y Gabriel!

I hired Gabriel for a full day of deep sea fishing and let me tell you here, trip of a life time! I’m an avid fresh water fisherman but this trip was something that blowed my mind! Never chased “Dorados” Mahi-mahi before but oh man these fish are fun and can put up a fight! Casted from the front deck and bang game is on!!
Gabriel and his nephew Hector were very friendly and knowledgeable. We shared a lot of fisherman talk and the trip was great . If you are going alone like I did, you will have more fish that you would dream to reel in at once! Between casting surface baits and trolling I was able to land 6 mahi-mahi and lost other 7-8 due to the fish cutting me off.

Overall great trip and I would for sure hire them again if I’m PV!

Gabriel is an experienced captain we fished on a tough day there weren’t too many fish out there but we still got a nice Skippy and we hooked 2 mahi mahi kinda wish I fished earlier in the day since I was told the fishing is better in the morning and that’s when we hooked up in the early afternoon. Also it gets very hot and humid in puerto vallarta so glad they had ice on the boat. Overall I definitely recommend him just make sure to go in the morning more fish and less heat!

This was a great trip. Captain Gabriel was very easy to get a ahold of we communicated often leading up to the trip. We were offered an upgrade to a bigger boat with better facilities for the women. We went outside the bay and caught 14 Mahi lost a few. Saw lots of turtles. We napped in the front of the boat on the way back. Crew was very hard working. The had 6 lines out the entire time. Managed double hook ups 4 times that time. Crew processed fish and held in freezer for us to get at the end of our trip. Thanks Captain Gabriel! See you next time.

I booked a trip last second with Captain Gabriel with Super Panga Three Stars (Tres Estrellas). I had a great time and the crew was very helpful and kind. They have a deep knowledge of the local area and cover all types of fishing from ground to roosters in the surf to pelagic and marlin!

I wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip with them but unfortunately could only fit a short trip in on this vacation. It seems like they can set you up with different fishing styles based on your request for target species and experience level which is awesome! The only thing that could’ve made it better was more fish but that’s fishing for you. We got sawed off by some bigger toothy species 6 times in a row in the morning which was exciting but sad at the same time.
