Captain Kyle Nifong owns and operates Reel Water Charters, offering daily inshore and near-shore fishing trips in the prolific Tampa Bay area. The endless hours Kyle spent exploring the local waterways will help make sure his clients not only enjoy a memorable adventure but also get a good shot at landing that fish of a lifetime.
With his 23’ center console vessel, Kyle covers the West central section including Ft. Desoto, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island Beach as well as the surrounding areas. The boat features a power pole anchoring system and is rigged with a conventional choice of navigational electronics and fishing technology, such as GPS, Fishfinder as well as radio.
Born and raised in the Tampa Bay area, Captain Nifong had the fortune of having both his father and his grandfather excited and passionate about the sport of fishing, which he quickly picked up on. Being a professional fishing guide has allowed him to make a career out of doing what he loves, his obsession for fishing still showing every time he’s on the water.
Captain Kyle specializes in light tackle and bottom fishing for a variety of inshore and near-shore game fish abundant in the Tampa Bay area. These include Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, Tarpon, Hogfish, Grouper and many other species, depending on the season. Specialty half and full day Tarpon charters are also available if you’re specifically interested in targeting the Silver King.
Captain Nifong prefers live baiting and chumming on his trips, which include all the necessary fishing equipment you’ll need for tackling these waters. Florida fishing licenses are mandatory for all fishermen on board and will be provided by Kyle at no additional charge. After your trip, if you decide to keep the fish you caught, Captain Kyle will be happy to clean and bag the fish for you to take home or to a local restaurant.
