Daniel’s Personalized Guide Service

Year-round fishing in Alaska? That’s what Daniel’s Personalized Guide Service offers. The year-round Halibut and Salmon bite is second to none, and you’re invited aboard to experience the “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World” for yourself. Captain Daniel Donich has been fishing since the age of 10, and professionally for over 30 years. A Seattle native, he fell in love with Homer, AK, and will show you exactly why on one of his famous trips.

There’ll be no need to fear the elements, even in the depths of winter, as you can always warm up in the closed cabin or next to the heater on board. This 35’ Bertram offshore sportfishing boat is designed to get out on the water and to hold you as you reel in the biggest creatures the sea has to offer. Powered by twin 200 HP Volvo engines, you’ll get to the most productive spots in less than an hour. Fitted with a kitchen, full toilet, and a bed, this vessel has all you need for a comfortable day at sea.

Anglers from all over the world come to fish Halibut in these waters, and you’ll get to see why, as you go after these delicious creatures. The Salmon bite is also prevalent throughout the year, with the species growing to gigantic sizes here. Using the latest Shimano rods and reels, you’ll be fishing with dead bait and artificial lures to get as many fish on the boat as possible. Capt. Daniel will set up to troll, while you can also jig and bottom fish to start reeling ‘em in.

At the end of the day, your catch will be cleaned and prepared for you to take home a delicious treat. The whole family is welcome aboard Daniel’s Personalized Guide Service, and who knows? You may also fall in love with the remote wilderness and excellent fishing in Homer, AK. Don’t miss this world-famous destination, so grab your fishing license online or from nearby stores and bring some snacks and drinks aboard for an unforgettable time!

I started my fishing career aged 10. My first boat was an 8' plywood dingy that I found after a big storm, full of gravel on Adelaide Beach, WA. I started fishing all summer long for whatever would bite – mostly bottom fish. Then, after lots of trial and error, I learned how to catch King Salmon and I fell in love with the sport. Growing up in the Seattle area I always heard about Alaska and all the untouched fishing that it had to offer so right out of High School I got a job commercial fishing for Pink, Chum, and Red Salmon. It was a great experience but it wasn't what I really wanted to do. So I got another job on a private Sportfisher, fishing all over Alaska from Ketchikan to Kodiak and I worked for that Company for 4 years. In that time, I moved up from deck hand to first mate, and then Captain. I settled down in Homer, because we have great fishing year-round. I have really learned how to perfect my techniques over the last 30 years.
