Billy's Guide Service – Keystone Lake
How often do you get the chance to come face-to-gills with a prehistoric species that pre-dates the dinosaurs? If you like plenty of history with your angling action, then join Captain Bill Genay aboard Billy’s Guide Service for the chance to reel in some primitive Paddlefish!
This incredible specimen has been around for more than 300 million years, and can live up to an impressive 60 years. Keystone Lake, located in Oklahoma, is one of the few fishing grounds that still hosts this ancient species, and Capt. Billy will use his years of experience and knowledge to take you to the Paddlefish’s favorite spots.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler who wants to hook this prehistoric beast for bragging rights, or a newbie looking for a truly unique angling adventure, Capt. Billy offers a variety of trips that are suitable for all ages and skill levels. Children are welcome aboard – why not use this as an opportunity for a history lesson they’ll never forget, as well as having a fun-filled family day out on the water?
You’ll be cruising Keystone Lake on your captain’s 24’ Sea Ark Pro Cat 240, newly built in 2017. She’s an aluminum fishing vessel that can perfectly tackle these freshwater fishing grounds, and offers accommodation for up to 5 guests. On board, you’ll find navigational gear, life jackets in a variety of sizes, and an ice box for storing your catch.
As well as being fun to catch, Paddlefish also offer insight into nature’s history – your captain wants to help preserve this incredible fish, which is why he practices strictly catch and release from Monday to Friday. If you visit on the weekends, you’ll be able to keep your catch, and your captain will fillet it for you.
These prehistoric wonders reach huge sizes, but you’ll be decked out with top-notch rods, reels, and tackle to reel ‘em in – and your captain will be on hand to help you out, too. Come aboard Billy’s Guide Service and get ready for a prehistoric angling adventure you’ll never forget!
