Balta and Polo took us out for 6 hours and husband caught a Barracuda and I caught a Bonita! We stopped at the beach and snorkeled with Polo and we fed three giant ass stingrays!!! (We are talking like 4 ft wide and 6ft long!) It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. We got to touch them and see a bunch of very colorful fish in the reef. While we were out Balti made fresh ceviche out of my husbands barracuda..,it was the best ceviche we have ever had! (obviously) The whole day was an insane amazing experience! One we will never forget! 🎣 the water was very choppy and and windy but it didn’t get us down. We are happy we walked away with two catches! A lot of boats we passed didn’t catch anything. Thanks Balihoo! We will be back someday!

Just got back from an amazing fishing trip! Our captain, Balta and his first mate were fantastic with my kids, making sure they had a blast while teaching them the ropes. We caught tons of fish, even an EEL and a STINGRAY and the excitement on their faces was priceless. The captain’s knowledge and patience made the day unforgettable. Also, they cleaned our fish and we got the restaurant on shore to cook it for us. I highly recommend booking a trip with Balta if you want a fun and successful fishing adventure!

We had a wonderful time fishing, the most authentic part of our holiday.  The meeting point is located just slightly North of Playa Del Carmen, the setting is rustic and what you would expect from serious fishermen.  We set off down the coast with drinks views and music, the Captain could not have been more obliging.  Firstly we spent a couple of hours or so looking for bait (Tuna) then dredging for deeper fish such as
Barracuda.  We then went into shallower waters where everyone fished amd caught many Grouper, Donkeyfish etc.  Each person in our group caught at least half a dozen fish, the baiting and removal of fish was done expertly by the captains mate.  The views of the coastline Jungle were spectacular.  At the end of the trip the Captain prepared the fish which we ate at the local restaurant we srt off from.  Brilliant experience, brilliant day.  Highly recommended.

Was originally scheduled to go out on Tuesday but had to reschedule for Friday due to weather. The rescheduling process was no issue! Captain was very knowledgeable. Fishing was slow but Captain Gerardo never gave up. We missed a Mahi but landed a black tuna and a couple Bonitos. When trolling wasn’t working we tried jigging. Hooked into a very large fish but unfortunately didn’t land it (my own fault). Took a break and snorkeled. First mate gave us private tour of the reef which included feeding fish and stingrays. Captain Gerardo made us homemade guacamole and it was out of this world! Before heading back Captain Gerardo made the decision to try jigging in a spot he had luck before. His decision paid off as we got to land a beautiful amberjack! If we are ever in Playa Del Carmen again I can guarantee you we will be booking another trip on the Balihoo Boat!

First off what a great place all around to venture off and fish. Whatever you catch is going to be cooked up at a local restaurant for very cheap. The captain we had was the Head captain’s brother Baltazar. They got us fishing almost immediately. We hit a private beach and snorkeling area for some snorkeling and swimming and had a guided tour of the reef. Got back to fishing and brought in a nice Mahi Mahi ( which we had cooked up later). Guys were super helpful ( son got a little sea sick, but got his sea legs after snorkeling). We will for sure be using them again. They were good company and very good to me and my boy. Thanks again guys!!
