Fishin’ Hookers
Texas City at the heart of Galveston Bay represents the best of Texas inshore fishing. Located on the Galveston Bay, Fishin’ Hookers will take you to every corner of the world-renowned bay for some exceptional inshore fishing. Captain Campbell is a Galveston Bay native and has over 50 years of experience fishing these waters. With a background in marine habitation, he knows exactly where to find the fish, so he’s the “Old Salt” you want to show you around. Although you’ll be exactly where the best chance where many fish species can be landed, it’s called fishing, not catching.
Up to 3 anglers plus the captain can head off from the marina aboard a 19’ Mako center console. With near 365-degree vision and plenty of space to steady yourself under the shade of a great T-Top, she’s a true fishing vessel. Equipped with a fishfinder, GPS, and live bait well, you’ll be at an advantage as you try to discover and catch the great fish in the bay. A light boat, a 90 HP Suzuki engine is more than enough to get her, and you, speeding off to the sweet spots.
Under Capt. Campbell vessel rules he recommends heading between 3-12 miles away from the launch, where you’ll start casting. Try jigging, spinning, and bottom fishing, as you hunt the inshore flats, along with the Gulf’s reefs and wrecks, for exciting species. Beautiful Redfish is a must for any angler, while delicious Flounder is a delight on anyone’s plate. With Black Drum and Speckled Trout on offer too, there’s no end to the fun you’ll have. Remember again – it’s called fishing, not catching.
Your catch will be put on ice right away, but make sure to bring some snacks and drinks to stay refreshed while on board. You should also purchase your Texas fishing license before coming aboard – try online at Texas Parks and Wildlife. And that’s it, you’re ready for a productive day on the water with Fishin’ Hookers!
Get down to southern Texas’s biggest gem and experience the Galveston Bay.
