Finnaction – Ice Fishing
Let the Finnaction team take you on an ice fishing adventure! They love fishing year round and they don’t let the subzero temperatures stop them. Captain Jarkko Auno runs these trips from Oulu, the city cosily nestled in the northern part of the Gulf of Bothnia.
This location is famous for its big Perches and if you’re lucky enough, you might catch some lunch-sized specimens. Besides that, you can also catch Northern Pike and even Whitefish. Capt. Jarkko will provide your fishing equipment and happily assist you with it.
Fishing in a frozen, winter lake isn’t so different from fishing in the other, warmer seasons. The techniques may vary, but in the end, you’re dropping bait into the water and waiting for a fish to clamp down and hook. The main difference is you will fish a bit deeper than you normally would in the other seasons.
Fishing spots are very close and Capt. Jarkko usually just walks with his guests. However, if you want to go with a snowmobile, that can be arranged for an additional 25 euros per person. As soon as you get to the fishing spot, your captain will drill a hole and get you ready for fishing. For the extra comfort and warmth, you can also request a tent with warm heaters, which will cost an additional 95 euros for the whole group.
There are two traits that ice-fishermen excel in – resistance and patience. Test your ability to defy the cold weather and book an ice fishing trip with the Finnaction team.
