Happy Hooker Fishing Adventures welcomes you to the gorgeous site of the Crawford Bay! Captain Steve Gutsche offers year-round fishing adventures, targeting specifically Rainbow Trout and Bull Trout.
The main departure point is on Kootenay Lake but the boat is trailerable and mobile, so you can also fish Slocan, Arrow, and Trout lakes on your multiday trip. These lakes are world famous for producing very big Trout and Capt. Steve knows how to catch them!
“The Happy Hooker” is Capt. Steve’s 28’ Chaparral boat. This cuddy cabin has been newly restored in 2018 and accommodates up to 3 guests. She’s powered by a 260 HP Mercruiser engine that will take you to your fishing spots fast, as it can reach a maximum speed of 30 knots. The boat has all necessary navigational and safety equipment, a private toilet, a small kitchen, and downriggers.
The captain can refer you to several places for accommodations, from 5-star resorts to rustic camping, just let him know your preference. For international guests, he can provide transportation from Cranbrook or Castlegar airports and also recommend accommodations. Or you may want to rent an RV for a week and the captain will travel with you to provide fishing opportunities along the way.
Capt. Steve will provide your fishing equipment and clean and vacuum your catch after the trip. You need to purchase your fishing license in advance and also bring some snacks and drinks for the day. The captain can also bring a BBQ on the boat, while you can bring the meat you want to be prepared for you.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 25% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
