When you want to pair premier fishing opportunities with awe-inspiring views, turn to Wild Northern Adventures for a memorable fishing expedition! British Columbia is famous for its superior angling, and if you’re a fishing enthusiast, then casting a line here at least once in your life is a must.
Your guide, Captain Shawn Braaksma has been fishing the waters of the Portland Canal for years, and he knows exactly where to take his anglers for a productive day on the water. His boat and your fishing platform for the day is a 26’ Kingfisher spacious enough to accommodate up to 4 persons. Rigged with twin 150 HP Mercury engines, the vessel is stable and can efficiently take you to that hot bite.
If you’d like to test your luck on shorter trips, you will be trolling for Chinook and Coho Salmon. Longer expeditions mean you get more time and a bigger catch variety that includes Halibut, Rockfish, Lingcod, as well as Crabs and Shrimp. You will use top-of-the-line Islander and Shimano rods and reels when trolling, and Penn tackle is reserved for Halibut jigging.
When you’re not fighting fish, you can admire the stunning views of the fjord, and it’s not unusual to spot whales, porpoises, and bears on the shore. Capt. Shawn will take care of everything fishing-related, and it’s up to you to pack food, drinks, snacks, and a valid fishing license.
Come with your best angling buddies or family and enjoy the unique and exciting fishing experience only Wild Northern Adventures can offer!
