We booked the trip on this website with Alex.  He met us on the beach, but then placed us on a boat with Captain Jose.  This was unexpected, but alright.

We e brought 2 fish on board - 1 small mahi mahi and 1 small tuna.  We also had one other that through the hook close to the boat.  There were a few other bites, but nothing solid.  We released the tuna and the first mate filleted the mahi mahi.

They had a cooler full of ice, bottled water, sodas, and beer.
Overall, we had hoped to see more action, but had a good time.

We had a blast fishing with Alex Lopez. We selected the afternoon 5 hour trip but also wanted to go snorkeling with our kids. They had no problem abbreviating the fishing to take us snorkeling. And the crew was so patient with our kids (10, 7, and 2). We trolled for a while and caught a beautiful yellow fin tuna and a mackerel. Cafe Coco cooked both up for us, and they were delicious. We can’t wait to book the full-day next time and 10/10 would recommend. 

Nos divertimos bastante con Alex López Fishing. No habíamos pescando así en el mar antes. La excursión del medio día fue perfecta para mi familia. Fui con mi esposa y nuestras tres hijas de edades 10, 7, y 2. Alex fue muy paciente con mis hijas y las llevaron a esnorklar después de pescar. Entrapamos a un atún y a un macarel que estuvieron deliciosos. Al regresar a Costa Rica queremos hacer la excursión del día completo, y recomiendo que vayas con Alex López si quieres tener un tiempo muy bueno.

It was a great experience, very knowledgeable crew. Capitan Lupe and Carlos really knew where the fish were,  We caught 3 - 40 pounds dorados (mahi).  They were cleaned and fillet right there.

Will definitely do it again with !!
