Step aboard Roughshot Charters and discover the exciting, diverse fishing of the Florida Keys. From the productive inshore shallows to the deep blue seas – there’s something for everyone.
Captain DJ Barrios will be your guide for the day. A 3rd-generation Key West fisherman, he’s still as passionate as he was as a boy about fishing. He hopes to share his enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge with each and every customer.
His 30’ Contender center console is the perfect vessel to fish these diverse fishing grounds. Light and nimble, she’ll navigate the shallows, while also being big enough to withstand the choppy waters offshore. Up to 4 guests are welcome, so make yourselves at home during your time aboard.
Fitted with outriggers and a live bait well, she means business. Capt. DJ will provide the latest fishing gear, and you’ll vary your fishing techniques throughout your trip. Try trolling the deeper waters, bottom fishing the near waters, and test your spearfishing or kite fishing skills, with all equipment provided.
In the inshore waters, get ready to do battle with some deadly Sharks. These monster creatures provide for a thrilling encounter, so bring your A-game and show off your strength to hook one aboard.
Along the reefs and in the nearshore waters, you’ll try to fill the boat with delicious Snappers and Groupers. These prized creatures will make for a delicious dinner at the end of the day, and you’ll work up a hunger after a day fighting these beasts.
The deep waters are home to some highly-prized, trophy-sized fish. Target Sailfish for the catch of a lifetime, while going after Mahi Mahi and Tuna will test your skills and strength, also providing a tasty treat at the end of the day.
Wherever you head, you’re in for a productive day. Your captain will clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day, so you’ll be ready to enjoy the fruits of your labor right away! Come aboard Roughshot Charters and see why Florida Keys fishing is world-renowned.
