The captain’s boat is a 22’ Triton, powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine, and equipped with a fishfinder, GPS, wireless trolling motor, and safety gear. Each trip accommodates up to 4 guests, allowing for a comfortable and personal experience for everyone. Kids ages 7 and up are welcome on board, and will even have the opportunity to become the captain’s first mate for the day. Children absolutely love this and always have an amazing time.

Capt. Mack offers several different fishing experiences, mainly centered around Mandeville, Slidell, and Lake Catherine areas. You’ll have the choice of trolling, bottom fishing or spinning while using top-quality Penn, Duckett, and Cajun rods and reels. His most popular and exciting trip is the “Kraken Hunt,” designed to catch Alligator Gar and Bull Shark. In fact, these trips are so popular that many popular fishing shows have documented the trip!

Aside from your monsters, you will also have the opportunity to reel in some other impressive species like Jack Crevalle, Sheepshead, Catfish, and other cool fish that call these inshore waters home.

    Lousiana is famous for its wide variety of fish species. On this trip, you will have the opportunity to catch some, including Blue Catfish, Redfish, Sheepshead, Channel Catfish, and Bass. Experience the thrill of fishing in an ever-changing environment, and let's see what you can reel in! Live bait is purchased for this trip. Cost of Live shrimp is currently about $48 for 100 live shrimp. We normally will purchase about 50 shrimp per person.

    On this trip, you will target the Lake Pontchartrain Kraken, a mythical monster that has been snapping fisherman’s rods and steel leaders around the Lake. Captain Mack will take you to the Kraken’s feeding grounds, and help you and your crew reel in all sorts of beasts from the deep. You will be targeting Alligator Gar, Bull Reds, and the infamous Lake Ponchatrain Bull Shark! This trip is predominately catch and release – that is, if we escape the Kraken!

I have been fishing Lake Ponchatrain and it’s surrounding Bayous since I first could hold a rod. My passion became my career when I went to work for Captain Andy Jones over the summer of 19’. Captain Andy taught me everything there is to know about hunting the Kraken and I continue to heed his advice while on the water. While waiting for the Kraken to awaken from hibernation, we have become expert Redfish and Trout fisherman, finding the best spots across Lake Ponchatrain, Catherine, and Borgne to load a box full of fish for our customers.
