Komohana Charters

Komohana Charters is run by Captain Koa Fuller. Born and bred here, he has been fishing for over 2 decades. He specializes in creating one of a kind experiences through the perspective of a local.

The day will be spent on his 23’ smooth riding “Koali Anona” Catamaran. This is a great boat for 6 people to sightsee from and to try trolling from. You can sit and enjoy the scenery while the lines are in the water behind the boat. When something catches, one member of your group at a time can battle the fish at the end of the line!

On the way out of the harbor, and again on the way in, the fishing lines will be set. Year round you’ll be able to catch a variety of species. There is always something biting in Kekaha! The species include Mahi Mahi, Trevally, Barracuda, Jack Crevalle, and Amberjack.

Komohana charters specialize in showing you around the Na Pali coast, which has some of the most dramatic and photographed cliffs in the world, only accessible via boat or plane. Have your camera ready, as the spectacular scenery and marine life will have you on the edge of your seats! You might see dolphins, whales, turtles, and much more.

If you choose to fish in one direction only, you’ll have time to go snorkeling too. Talk to the captain beforehand to arrange this. He can bring along all the necessary equipment.

Children over 2 will enjoy this trip as it is not centered heavily on fishing. You don’t need any experience for trolling, as the captain will prepare the lines for you and set the hooks. No live bait is used throughout Hawaii.

There are a few bits you should bring along. Have a light jacket and easy to remove footwear, as well as a hat and sunscreen. There is plenty of dry storage space on board, as well as a cooler if you choose to bring lunch. Snacks, drinks, and fishing gear are included. A license is not needed for saltwater fishing in Hawaii.

About the Captain

Koa Fuller
