Capt. Joes Flounder Ventures
When you go to Texas, Flounder gigging should be at the top of your to-do list! Book a trip with Capt. Joe’s Flounder Ventures for an enjoyable and safe experience that will have you the envy of all your friends.
Capt. Joe has been Flounder gigging for over 2 decades now and loves sharing his passion with others. Gigging under the stars is a magical experience. You don’t need any experience either! As long as you are over 12 years of age, you can come along, learn how to gig, and shoot your own dinner – a very cool feeling.
You’ll head out once it gets dark, so depending on the month this can be as early as 7:30 p.m. or much later, around 8:30 p.m. You’ll fish for 5 hours or until you have caught over 20 fish, whichever comes first. As well as Flounder, you’ll also be able to gig for Black Drum and Sheepshead.
The trip will be on Capt. Joe’s custom built 24’ boat, built in 2018. There is enough room for 6 people on board, with 2 gigging at once. The wireless trolling motor will help you get close enough to the fish without startling them.
All the equipment needed for a successful gigging trip are included in the price. You’ll need to bring along your own food and drink, which can go into the captain’s cooler on the boat. Please buy a license before the trip.
This trip is truly a bucket list experience. Capt. Joe’s Flounder Ventures and the crew are looking forward to welcoming you aboard their custom built boat to have an awesome night Flounder gigging.
The boat can depart from either Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass, TX or Port Aransas Harbor Boat Ramp in Port Aransas, TX.
