Captain Mackie Bellott will take you on an unforgettable journey through the untouched waters of Louisiana's backcountry where you will be targeting some impressive species that hide below the surface. But beware, for it is said the legendary Kraken lurks beneath these waters!
Your boat for the day will be a 22' Triton bay boat, powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine. It comes equipped with a fishfinder, GPS, wireless trolling motor, and necessary safety gear. The captain can take up to 5 guests at a time, including kids ages 7 and up. Something fun that he likes to do when taking kids on board is making them his first mate for the day. They absolutely enjoy this and end up falling in love with fishing after the trip!
Capt. Mack offers a number of different fishing experiences based on whatever your preferences are. You'll mainly be fishing in the Mandeville, Slidell, and Lake Catherine areas where you'll be using light tackle to troll, spin, or bottom fish for species like Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, and many more. Top-quality Duckett and Penn rods and reels are provided for you on each trip, as well as lures.
Over the past few years, these charters have become so popular that National Geographic has decided to feature the famous 'Kraken Hunt' in a documentary that aired in April 2019. These expeditions are offered from their other listing location, across Lake Pontchartrain where there are lots of Alligator Gar and Bull Shark.

The Kraken Hunt (Afternoon) on July 16, 2026 • 1 adultMy trip with Captain Mackie was phenomenal. First class in all aspects. Captain Mackie is very friendly, and his expertise made for an incredible day of fishing. We started by catching some bait fish, and then made our way to the spot. We hooked up with a monster bull shark, which was the experience of a lifetime. Without Captain Mackies expertise and experience, there is no way I could have landed this monster. After the shark, we went into one of the channels and hooked up with an alligator gar. Captain Mackie knew exactly where to go and we caught one in no time. If you’re fishing in Louisiana, Captain Mackie is the guy you want.

The Aquarium Catch (Morning) on August 15, 2026 • 4 adultsWe had a great trip with Wicked Fishing on the Aquarium Catch. We caught a ton of white and speckled trout that were great to eat that evening. We also caught of variety of other fish, including a huge redfish and two sharks. Captain Mackie did a great job keeping us busy with catches and moving around to the right spots. I'd definitely recommend Wicked Fishing and we hope to find the time to schedule another trip!

The Aquarium Catch (Afternoon) on April 4, 2026 • 2 adultsWe ended up with windy conditions, but Capt Mackie was willing to keep pushing so my son had an opportunity to fish. We caught somebig and some small fish, but action was consistent and the time flew by. Capt Mackie was very good with my 23 year old. He answered questions, helped when needed, and also taught him how to remove hooks from fish. Would recommend and would do the trip again!

The Aquarium Catch (Afternoon) on October 13, 2025 • 3 adults⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing time on our charter with Wicked Fishing! I brought my 11- and 8-year-old sons, and Mackie was fantastic — not only helping all of us fish but also letting the boys get hands-on with tying up the boat and cleaning the catch. We ended the day with a great haul of fish to take home, and the boys couldn’t have been prouder. Such a fun, family-friendly adventure — highly recommend!

He did a great job of helping us get the proper technique down and stayed busy baiting our hooks with all the nibbles. Captain was patient and steady with my father. The sheepheads were a great battle! We had a wonderful afternoon and left tuckered out from all the fun with a lot of good fish to take home and eat.
